On behalf of the members of the Studebaker Car Club of Queensland, I invite all Studebaker owners and enthusiasts from around Australia and beyond to attend the 17th Studebaker National Meet, to be held on Queensland's beautiful Gold Coast during Easter 2007. The Gold Coast region is Australia's most popular holiday destination, with an endless amount of quality accommodation and attractions to interest all ages. This is an ideal opportunity to take the whole family on a holiday while enjoying some Studebaker activities at the same time. Our meet headquarters is the impressive Gold Coast International Hotel, located only 50m from the beach at Surfers Paradise. The GCI is a 5-star fully self contained complex that provides our members with easy access to surrounding attractions and a variety of room types and rates. This is also the first Australian national meet headquarters that provides full secure undercover parking for the exclusive use of our members.
Another first for an Australian national meet is our raffle. Traditionally, national meet raffles have consisted of non-automotive items but for the first time in Australia we are offering as first prize a Studebaker Vehicle!!! Tickets will become available during Easter 2006 and will be on sale until the Concours Presentation dinner. It has been 10 years since a meet was last held in Queensland and we are looking forward to hosting our southern and international friends again. We have a full itinerary of events planned for the Easter period and beyond. Apart from the various dinners and social nights, there is an indoor swap meet, a driving event, bus & boat trips and, of course, the biggest display of Studebaker vehicles ever seen in Australia. If we can get 50 cars to a local concours, I am sure we can easily exceed 120 vehicles at a national concours.
